How Clumsy Are You?

Ask a Question

I keep finding bruises on my body lol 😬 and I don’t remember how I got them! 😅😙

Just a few hours ago I was tying my hair up and the stupid hair tie with it being so stretched out and I have not had any problems until now the glue area was sticking out and it grazed right into the back of my left hand! Thought it was just a light scratch but it’s a deep cut and started bleeding! Grr 😠!

Snapped it and threw it away lol 😆 Think this has happened 3 or 5 times so far, didn’t want to bin it as I now have 3 left…

I was always falling over in the playground, banging my head, grazing my knees but we thought it was just because I was more adventurous than my older sibling.

I don't remember being anymore clumsy as a teenager. But as an adult I've ended up in A&E from just falling over, I don't know how it happened but I was out on my own and lost my footing somehow, I didn't go to A&E straight away but the next day I could barely move, apparently it was just a really bad sprain, even they were surprised. I've fallen up stairs a fair bit - I call it my talent 🤣

I fall out of bed occasionally. 😂

I'm often loosing my footing more than I should. But I don't know if that is also down to being more aware of it and the fear of it happening again, like an ingrained thought in my subconscious.

It looks like my niece is following in my footsteps - she keeps grazing her whole nose, bumps on her head and landing on her face. I can't even say it is my influence and I don't see her very often. I mean I could have passed on some better genes, if it is genetic 🫣 😂

My wife's clumsy as she's got a parking ticket at tesco but I'm stupid because it's me who pays for it as I'm the named driver

Everyone is clumsy from time to time but if this happens all the time (and particularly from a young age) it's worth looking into whether you may be dyspraxic (Developmental Coordination Disorder).

My son has this and knowing he has it makes things easier or certainly provides an explanation for being clumsy. His coordination is poor (kicking / throwing a ball and handwriting doesn't seem to improve), falling over in the playground and delayed speech were early indicators.

(Note having dyspraxia doesn't affect your intelligence, he is also very intelligent and a member of Mensa). 🤗

Clumsy here! Mostly dropping plates or cups or coats and bags. I know it’s because I try to do too much in one go instead of making 2 or 3 separate trips. 😅.

Not so much clumsy but days when I hate gravity. Everything seems to drop to the floor, i could be holding something and i drop it somehow, I will hang up something and it will fall, I put something down on a surface and it will fall off. The worse one is when I hang up a towel in the bathroom and go back in and it’s on the floor. Then i hang I again and then falls.

eyeballkerry I know what you mean! I’m not doing anything yet I drop items it’s annoying 😠 it just happens out of no where!

Like the other day got out a sliced brioche roll left the bag standing up on table and it just fell and a slice dropped to carpet had to bin it! 🤦🏻‍♀️ usually lay it horizontally flat on table

kitty88uk Soon after writing my comment I went out side, as I’m in Portugal on holiday. I took out a tea towel to the table and must have dropped it half a dozen times, no idea why?

I was ridiculously clumsy as a child. Constantly falling over and hurting myself. Broken arm, cracked my head open twice, cut the top of my finger off in a door. Not as clumsy now I'm an adult, but I still drop lots of things and trip over stuff.

I am getting worse as I get older, I think I need to go to those balancing classes for old folk! 😂 when I first get up from sleep or sitting I walk like a crab for a couple of steps.

I have fits and starts of being clumsy, but yes when walking I can find the simpliest of things to trip over quite easily.

I was incredibly clumsy as a kid- was forever injuring myself. But I did judo for years. My youngest was worse than me and diagnosed with dyspraxia so I put her into dance. It was about the repetitive movements and having to concentrate on your balance. But sadly I’m now on crutches and its a whole new world of being clumsy- and whilst holding two ‘weapons’ lol

I have arthritis in my fingers which means I easily lose my grip on items so I have to be very careful especially with glassware. It is not really clumsiness but a health condition.I have to be careful too when people pass me things to hold which can go straight through my hands.I don't like being passed dishes in restaurants so my husband takes over when this happens.

I once fell backwards over a tripping hazard sign, in front of an office full of people. Flashbacks to this day.
