I often have emails proclaiming they have an 'up to 50% off sale'. I look to see if there is anything to share and after scrolling through pages and pages i cannot find one single item with 50% off, or maybe just one item which i suppose gets them off the hook.

An email today supposedly had 50% off but the most i could find was 30% off. I will name no names in case I get sued! This is not a one off but a regular thing and i don't think it is right or honest

Yes take all these with pinch of salt. Lots also say ‘from’ certain price and the prices are way over with just one probably useless product at the starting point.

I don't take any notice of them anymore, like you say there is never anything with 50% off

Lynibis Name them. We can set up a GoFundMe page to cover the legal costs.

The 'up to' statement is nearly always a con job

When I'm tempted onto pages that claim to have a 50% off sale, the first thing I do is go to the search tool and type in 50% sale. If I'm lucky there may be 1 or 2 items that no one in their right mind would want to purchase for 99% off let alone half price. It's the sale equivalent of click bait unfortunately.

That is my pet hate phrase and places such as TK max and my local designer outlet have it as their strapline

50% off means nothing in reality the only thing that matters is the final price and if its a better price than competitors. I see so many deals on Latestdeals and you only have to put in the same product in google to find cheaper sellers of the same item. 10% off a £10 item is still better than the same item sold as 50% off £20.

I think there is a law that says if this offer is advertised they have to have so many at the price, not sure even it’s just one. But it is annoying, I noticed this a lot when I worked in travel. It’s to get the customers in.

What I have noticed a lot on this site and not the sites fault is when you look at peoples deal and see the deal is finished how much the item has gone up from the original price.

eyeballkerry I have noticed many deals on here are not deals at all showing just the normal price. I always downrate supermarket foods as you'd have to be crazy to travel around them all for each bargain and surely we are all capable of comparing food prices.!?

These are very great value but portion can be small , hubby has sweet tooth though and eats my puddings so not wasted and saves us money rather than eating out.
